Congratulations to Darren Simon, a new Divertir Publishing author!

Keep your eyes open for Darren Simon's book, Guardian Nightmare (working title).

    From the website www.darren-simon.com:

“The Last Guardian and the Reject Bike,” is the story of a thirteen-year-old girl, Charlee Smelton, who has her share of self-esteem issues. She is a bit overweight, has thick Coke bottle-lenses for glasses and she can’t hit a baseball to save her life. Add to that the fact she is afraid of the dark, is struggling to adjust to her new school in the city and that she blames her dad, the professor, for the move, and you have a young woman going through a rough patch.

One day, she receives the strangest gift from her dad, the ugliest-hunk-of-junk bike she has ever seen, and life for Charlee will never be the same. For one, the bike seems to follow her. And, she can’t touch the bike without feeling like lightning has shot through her body.

What Charlee is about to discover is that she is more than she ever thought possible, and with the help of the most unlikely friend, she must discover the hero within herself if she is to save her family, her city — indeed the world — from an evil that has arisen.
